Testimonials

It's more than just a training camp , I call it my third home.

Karthik

“The trainers are so good ensuring that you grasp the basics and continue to improve technique. The same enthusiasm is given to students in their first ever class and continues through to students working on fight training programs.”

Bec

“If you want to be trained by world-class fighters, on a beautiful island, where the atmosphere is friendly but with the intention of pushing you to your limits, then this is the place!”

Tom

“The trainers are also very friendly and will push you to work hard. The trainer-student ratio is about 1:2, often even 1:1.”

Raya

“Trainers are friendly and nice but will make you work hard, which was the reason why I came to train there in the first place.”

Jenny

Pick, Muay Thai Trainer

Pick has been a trainer here at K.Y.N for over 3 years. Students often refer to Pick as the perfect gentleman, who can also spar with the most advanced students, while looking closely for techniques that can be improved.

He started training at the Sor Suk Ganya gym in Pet Buri at the young age of 11 years old and had his first fight only 6 months later. At the age of 17, Pick moved to Bangkok to join the top fighters at Sor ta wan Rung gym. From there he fought at Lumpini and Rajadamnern stadiums.

He has worked as a Muay Thai trainer with westerners for the last 4 years and is known by the students for his kind-hearted nature. Pick enjoys playing guitar and will often play for us at the Saturday night social events.

Nok, Muay Thai trainer

Nok trained at the same gym as Hlukhin – Borchaiwat, along with many top champions. If you had been watching Thai Channel 7 at the time, you would have seen Nok fight on a regular basis.

There comes a day in every student’s life when Nok will demonstrate how you block a flurry of strikes coming at you from hands and feet – without even seeming to move. In disbelief, you’ll whisper to your sparring partner – “like that” and they will conspiratorily whisper back – “yip, just like that”.

Nok has been training Western students for a number of years and will accurately pinpoint technique problems and create interesting pad combinations for you to work on.

Pigong, Muay Thai and Boxing trainer

Originally a trainer at the gym Hlukhin trained at in Bangkok, Pigong has many years experience.

A top class trainer, having trained Thai WBA Champion Songclam Borbowin, students can expect to benefit from his insights.

An incredibly effective physical mimic, he will clearly lay out for you what mistake you are making, and what change you need to make to implement the punch, kick or block effectively.

Every student tends to find themselves working hard to earn his measured “better” and on their very best days a “good”.

Smiling and laughing, students regard Pigong as a wonderful trainer to work with.

BAT, Muay Thai and Boxing trainer

Bat fought for 20 years and has had over 100 Muay Thai fights – he started at the age of twelve and amazingly was the Isan champion at 13 years old. Bat moved from his home to Muag Surin Gym in Bangkok, Thailand at the age of 13 to further his career and fought at Rajadamnern stadium 20 times, and was the main event for many of his fights!

Bat also had 30 boxing fights – impressively losing only two – and he won ten by knockout. Before joining K.Y.N. Muay Thai Gym Bat spent five years at a Thai gym in Bangkok training champions.

Harry

Harry does not class himself as a trainer at K.Y.N. Gym, but he helps many of our students and fighters both during training and during fights. Harry has had over 100 fights in Kyokushinkai, Boxing and Muay Thai. Harry is an inspiration to many of us here – check out his training video ‘ Never too old for Muay Thai’.
